Privacy policy

Last updated: August 2026Alpha English collects nothing. There is no account, no sign in, no analytics and no advertising. After the app is downloaded it makes no network requests at all, so there is nowhere for anything to go even if we wanted it to. Everything below is the long version of that sentence.
What the app stores, and where
Three things are saved, all of them inside the app's own storage on the device, and none of them anywhere else.
Optional. If it is typed in, it is used to personalise the screens the child sees. It is never transmitted, and it can be cleared at any time from the For parents area.
Which stages have been completed and which sounds are secure, so the app can pick up where it left off and show the For parents area breakdown.
App language, sound, paper size and the microphone preference.
Because this data lives only on the device, deleting the app deletes all of it, permanently. There is no backup on our side to restore from, and that is the trade the app makes in exchange for asking you for nothing.
The microphone
The Say step asks the child to say a word out loud. If the microphone permission is granted, the app listens only long enough to tell that a sound was made. Nothing is recorded, nothing is saved, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Speech is never scored, transcribed or compared with a native speaker. The app checks that the child spoke, never how closely they matched anyone. An accent is not a mistake.
The permission is optional. It can be refused when iOS asks, turned off later in the For parents area, or revoked in iOS Settings, and every other part of the app carries on working.
Third parties
There are none. The app contains no advertising network, no analytics provider, no crash reporting service, no social media kit and no cloud backend. Nothing about your use of the app is shared with anyone, because nothing about it reaches us in the first place.
Apple sits between us and you as the App Store operator. If you have allowed it in iOS Settings, Apple may share anonymous, aggregated download and crash statistics with developers. We never see who you are in that data, and it is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.
Children
Alpha English is made for children, so the standard it is built to is the strict one: it collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. There is no data to obtain parental consent for, no profile to build, and no way for a child to contact us, be contacted, or reach anything outside the app.
There are no links out to the web, no chat, no user generated content and no way for one user to see another. The app cannot show a child anything that was not shipped inside it.
Your rights, and how to use them
Data protection law gives you rights to see, correct, export and delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to show you or delete. The controls that matter are on the device, in your hands.
Open the For parents area. The name, the progress and the settings shown there are the complete set.
For parents → clear or edit the child's name at any time.
For parents → Reset returns the app to a first launch state. Deleting the app does the same thing and removes the app with it. Neither can be undone.
iOS Settings → Alpha English → Microphone, or turn it off in the For parents area.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, the policy changes first and the date at the top of this page moves with it. If a future version were ever to collect anything at all, it would be described here plainly, in advance, and it would be optional.
